On December 18, we have been hosting a guest lecturer mr. Goran Đaković at the subject Management of Higher Education at the master’s program Leadership and Quality in Education. The guest lecture was entitled Quality Assurance in Higher Education – Institutional, Systemic and International Aspects. Goran Đaković is the head of evaluations at the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), where he leads the external evaluations of quality assurance agencies according to the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the European Register for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (EQAR). Prior to that, he worked in the Institutional Development Unit at the European University Association (EUA), where he focused on areas such as quality assurance, learning and teaching, and the recognition of qualifications and prior learning. Goran began his career in the field of quality assurance in higher education at the ISSBS, where he was in charge of institutional evaluations.

In an interesting lecture, the guest pointed out that higher education institutions are primarily responsible for the quality of their activities and that quality assurance must take into account the needs and expectations of students, all other stakeholders and society. He also presented the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and their purpose.
