As a member of management in financial institutions, Dr. Mojca Gornjak was responsible for both financial and accounting functions (stock brokerage, banking, pension insurance, insurance). She organized, led, supervised, and coordinated work. She has led projects for the implementation of new accounting standards into practice (IFRS 9 – Financial Instruments, IFRS 16 – Leases) and participated in other projects (introduction of sustainability reporting under GRI standards, IFRS 17 – Insurance Contracts). She has worked with various regulatory and supervisory bodies. In recent years, she has focused on financial and tax consulting, forensic investigations, and sustainability reporting in line with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
In her work, she connects theoretical knowledge from academia with practical knowledge in finance, accounting, taxation, and sustainability. Her experience and expertise, combined with a deep understanding of business operations, provide added value in client consulting.
Dr. Gornjak holds a PhD and is a certified assistant professor in accounting and finance. Her research areas include International Financial Reporting Standards, Slovenian Accounting Standards, managerial accounting, knowledge management, taxation, corporate finance, and sustainability/ESG. As a university lecturer, she imparts knowledge in finance, taxation, and accounting. She has obtained certifications as a “Certified Fraud Examiner in Finance and Accounting” and “Certified Management Accountant” from the College of Accounting and Finance.
