Assoc. Prof. Dr.Maja Ovčak Kos

Dr. Maja Ovčak Kos holds a law degree and a doctorate in legal sciences. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Nova Gorica and the European Faculty of Law, as well as an attorney specializing in civil and commercial law. She obtained her master’s and doctoral degrees from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana, focusing on intellectual property law. Dr. Ovčak Kos has served as Chair of the Mediation Council for Employee Inventions at the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office and is a candidate for substitute judge at the Unified Patent Court. She has authored several monographs, scientific and professional articles, and legal studies, and is a frequent lecturer at legal education events in the fields of civil law, intellectual property law, and alternative dispute resolution. She has also pursued further education abroad in these legal areas. Her research and teaching work is complemented by practical experience in the judiciary, particularly at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Slovenia and in private law practice. Dr. Ovčak Kos has received various awards for her work.
