Jaka Polutnik

Jaka Polutnik graduated in 2008 with a degree in Media Communications from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Informatics at the University of Maribor (UM FERI). He is currently pursuing doctoral studies and has furthered his education through international seminars, such as those in Braga, Portugal, and Iceland, where he specialized in scientific writing methodologies. From 2009 to 2017, he worked as an assistant at UM FERI.

Polutnik has achieved several notable accomplishments, including an international award for Best Ecological Film at the VIVA Festival in Sarajevo for his film Who Am I, which was screened at five other festivals. Additionally, he is the founder and organizer of the Student Cuts film festival, which has been receiving approximately 2,500 film submissions annually since 2010 and organizes various promotional events.

In his professional field, Polutnik contributed to the program redesign at the Artistic Gymnasium Ljutomer and won the Best Paper Award at an IEEE conference in Turkey. His work spans video production and design, where he collaborated with companies such as Lisca and Surovina on promotional and audiovisual projects. He also develops web solutions and portal services, including for the University of Maribor.

Jaka Polutnik demonstrates broad expertise across various domains, from media communications to digital solutions, enabling him to thrive in diverse industries. He currently serves as the Head of Marketing at the Roto Group.
