As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 project, an ISSBS delegation consisting of Nada Trunk Širca, Aleš Trunk, and Anica Novak Trunk visited Kasetsart University in Thailand from 15 to 25 July 2026. During a series of meetings, the participants discussed strengthening the existing cooperation, including the further development of the international academic publisher ToKnowPress, the organisation of the joint international MakeLearn & TIIM & PIConf conference, which will take place in Italy in 2027 and return to Thailand in 2028, and continued cooperation within the staff and teaching mobility programme.
Participation in international projects provides additional opportunities for development. Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education projects were identified as particularly suitable, as they require the participation of several universities from Thailand and neighbouring countries. With the aim of preparing joint project proposals in 2027, and at the initiative of Kasetsart University, we also visited the following higher education institutions: Silpakorn University, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Suratthani Rajabhat University, Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, and Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna. These universities are located in different regions of Thailand.
All the universities visited expressed an interest in participating in future projects. The discussions focused primarily on preparing project proposals in the following thematic areas: leadership in higher education, open science, graduate employability, and dual education.
