Teaching Mobility in Malawi

24.04.2026

Assist. Prof. Mateja Gorenc participated in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme for teaching mobility at the partner institution Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) in Malawi

The main purpose of the mobility is to deliver lectures and interactive workshops in the fields of finance, statistics, and data analysis for students enrolled in undergraduate and master’s study programmes. The mobility also includes activities aimed at strengthening cooperation between ISSBS and LUANAR. Planned activities include the exchange of knowledge and teaching approaches, professional discussions on the development of study programmes, and consideration of opportunities for integrating quantitative methods into educational content in the fields of development studies and agribusiness.

The visit is also intended to identify opportunities for further cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in the area of future staff and student mobilities, joint research initiatives, and project collaboration within the Erasmus+ programme and other international funding mechanisms.

Such mobilities represent an important element of the internationalisation of higher education institutions and contribute to long-term interinstitutional cooperation, professional exchange, and the strengthening of international academic ties.
