On 1 February, the first Erasmus + project meeting of the RespectNET project – Respectful Communication through Media Education Network, organized by Università telematica Pegaso from Italy, was held. The project manager of RespectNET is dr. Luigia Melillo. Other project partners are International School for Social and Business Studies from Slovenia, Universitatea Politechnica Timisoara from Romania and the Verein für sozialwissenschaftliche Beratung und Forschung e.V from Germany.
The partners want to implement the project because they are aware of the problem of negative tendencies in social communication, such as hate speech and cyberbullying, not only in their own educational institutions but also in the wider society.
The goals of the project are:
– developing media literacy of university staff and students,
– increase exchanges of experience and exchanges with wider regional civil society to build a knowledge partnership between universities and civil society for respectful social dialogue,
– develop a code-respectful dialogue at the university and (social) media for all members of the university,
– more attractive education and training programs, according to individual needs and expectations,
– a modern, dynamic, dedicated, and professional environment within the organization,
– develop a matrix of media and respectable communication competencies for university staff,
– develop multimedia modules on media competencies and respectful communication,
– develop a transmedia learning platform on media and communication competencies for university members.
We are looking forward to the results of the project.
