EU Integration: The European HE Area and Labour Market – conclusion of the 3-year project

A three-year project EU Integration: The European HE Area and Labour Market (EU:HELM)  is ending in August of 2020. The project EU:HELM has been co-funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Jean Monnet program (JM Chair) and was coordinated by ISSBS.

The “EU: HELM” project addressed the development of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), which is an important instrument in the EU integration process, and employ-ability has been one of its main objectives from the very beginning. Higher education institutions have a key role to play in providing high-quality professional competencies that enable graduates to constantly adapt to changing working conditions. Participants of EU:HELM activities have gained knowledge on the role of higher education in the EU integration process, as well as skills for better employ-ability in the EU labour market.

Activities were performed by the JM Chair holder prof. dr. Nada Trunk Širca,
as well as by other lecturers and JM Professors from Slovenia and abroad. The activities which have been carried out under this project were: BA Course: EU Integration – Education, Employment and Social Policies, MA Course: EU Integration – The Higher Education and Research Area, Professional Training Course: European Higher Education and Graduates’ Employability and Summer School for PhD and Young Researchers: A Competitive EU – Research Policies, Innovations and Entrepreneurship
