VISION AND MISSION
To enrich our students' and graduates' professional development and improve their employability by providing high quality, internationally oriented education and research in the fields of business, economics and management, and thereby contribute to the development of knowledge society.

Study ProgrammesISSBS delivers study programmes leading to a qualification at three levels. The content and structure of the programmes are internationally comparable. Generally, ISSBS delivers the programmes as blended learning, for both local and international students. In the context of lifelong learning, ISSBS delivers various forms of education (including international summer schools) and recognizes prospective students’ knowledge and skills that have been acquired elsewhere.
All study programmes are fully accredited by Slovene Quality Assurance Agency (SQAA), which is registered in ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and EQUAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Quality in Education).
In addition, 1st cycle programme Business in Contemporary Society and 2nd cycle programme Knowledge management have obtained accreditation from the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ) until February 2021. Futhermore, 2nd cycle programme Knowledge management has also the accreditation from the German Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) until August 2016.

ResearchISSBS carries out scientific-research and developmental activities in the fields of economics, social, administrative and organisational sciences, management, education, computer science and informatics, law, etc. Despite its short existence the faculty can already show important research achievements. In the future we intend to upgrade our research activities, also through more intensive participation of our students.ISSBS encourages teachers to undertake research and development work and supports dissemination and visibility of research findings. The holders of research activity are teachers, who, through their involvement in domestic and international research projects, contribute to the development of science and specific disciplines, career development, and recognition of the ISSBS. In collaboration with foreign partners, ISSBS organizes an international scientific conference MakeLearn, publishes international scientific journal IJMKL, and manages its own ISSBS Academic Press and the international Academic Press ToKnowPress. ISSBS students are also involved in research, e.g. through student projects and by linking their theses to the ISSBS research projects.
Directions for research:
- Ensuring favourable research conditions and strengthening confidence in the research work of individuals.
- Encouraging the dissemination and publicity of research work at the individual and institutional level.
- Developing a culture of research and international cooperation in the field of research.
Collaboration with the environment and social responsibilityISSBS and its education and research activities are part of the regional, national, and international environment. In its educational activities, for instance, ISSBS involves visiting teachers and guests from practice, organizes visits to organisations, internships, and various public events, such as roundtables, public lectures, workshops, presentations of research findings, etc. Internationalisation is an important aspect of the collaboration with the environment and includes networking with foreign higher education institutions on education and research activities, as well as mobility of students, teachers, and experts from practice.
ISSBS acts socially responsibly, by promoting socially responsible behaviour amongst students and employees.

Provision of operation conditionsISSBS's staff is composed of acknowledged Slovene and foreign higher education teachers and researchers with significant experience in the fields of higher education teaching and research. Furthermore, the faculty has established cooperation with numerous successful field experts with research and/or professional achievements. ISSBS offers opportunities for continuous professional development to its employees (through mobility programmes, strengthening of the collaboration with the industry, seminars, lectures by foreign experts, etc.). ISSBS has appropriate premises for educational and research activities, a library (including e-information resources), and suitable equipment (video, audio and ICT). The premises are provided on a long-term basis, in a building owned by the Municipality of Celje. The funds are obtained from national and international public sources, and partly through the delivery of services to the market.
